| As a celebrant, one of my duties is to provide each of my clients with the “Happy Ever After” brochure at the time of the booking interview. This brochure outlines for the client the legalities of marriage, and the rights and responsibilities that go along with it. It contains useful information regarding wills, taxation, name changes and brief details on how these things are affected by marriage. It also talks about the importance of relationship counselling both before and after marriage, and recommends pre-marital counselling as way for the couple to explore their relationship and strengthen it for the future. It is an important part of my job as a celebrant to make this information available to my clients so that they can understand the benefits of, and gain access to, this service if they feel it is appropriate for them.
